Francois Freres barrels are becoming more and more popular.

As many of you know and have seen for yourself, Francois Freres barrels are becoming more and more popular for the Bordeaux varietals. Due to demand they have created a specific toast for Cabernet called Select Cabernet. It is less smoky toast which promotes more fruit and elegance. Wineries such as Cos d’Estournel, Chateau Latour, Chateau Angelus and Chateau Lynch Bages to name a few are using it with great success. Just indicate SC in the toast section when ordering.

 

Then we have developed a new barrel for fermenting wine on skins in. It is called Vision and is designed with the strip of perspex so you can keep an eye on the ferment. You can draw samples easily with the sampling tap and then when you want to empty it just unto the screws around the stainless steel plate instead of removing the whole head. The head can be moved from barrel to barrel as the barrel needs replacing.
